Ironic?

This past week I talked about the fight in the texans titans game last week where both Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan were  both fined $25,000 for their involvement in the fight. Now, last Sunday James Harrison was fined yet again for his hit he put on buffalo's QB. His fine...... $25,000. Does anyone besides myself fined it wrong that James Harrison whose hit is just like one that has happened in every football game since football was created is fined the same amount as two players who fought on national tv and showed poor sportsmanship as well as a bad example. Does that bother anyone else? Leave comments and thoughts

Fighting again

One week after Ben Roethlisberger got punched by Richard Seymour. Titans corner Cortland Finnigan and Texans star WR Andre Johnson got in too a major confrontation sunday. Below is a link to watch the fight. But this brings me to my next point. Both Andre and Cortland were fined $25,000 for being involved in the fight. Yet, when james Harrison makes a hit like every football player has since the game was created, he is fined $75,000 and threatened to be suspended. Now tell me how that is right? It is starting to look like either the NFL, Roger Goodell or the refs have it out for Mr. Harrison. please leave your opinion.

Roethlisberger Gets punched!

By now most people have heard about Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger getting hit in his face mask yesterday by Oakland Raider DT Richard Seymour. Most people around here are very happy about this because being in the Cleveland area. Not a lot of people are like me and enjoy the Steelers. But, take it from the Standpoint of the NFL. This is something you do not want. Yes, we want big hits but even with all these new rules it is hard to figure out what is a good hit and what isn't. In my opinion, besides the fact of me being a steelers fan. That was a horrible thing to do and things like that and the people that do those things do not deserve to be on the field. You don't like getting scored on? Use that the next play to blow the guy up from across from you. Don't do something cheap and something that will cost your team.

Hail Marys

So, I don't know if anyone else seen the hail mary pass that Jacksonville QB David Garrard completed at the end of the their win over the Texans yesterday. But, they just reminds me that I guess anything can happen at the end of the game, even though it has been a long time since there has been a memorable hail mary play. So I have decided to post some of the most memorable hail marys in football history. College or Pro.

First, David Garrad's           Jacksonville over the texans

Doug Flutie's              Boston College over the U

           Kordell Stewart's       Colorado over Michigan

 Remember any others? Share them.

MidSeason Awards

Since we are now offically half way through the 2010 season. I would like to take the time to do what every other sports magazine, sport show anything sports is doing, give out my midseason awards. Now just remember these awards are just based on my own opinion. So, if you do not like them. too bad.

    Here We Go

MVP- Tom Brady- i don't like the man but without a solid back as well as having a very young reciving corps as well as having his best one traded, he isnt doning too bad.

Offensive MVP- TBD. No one has really steeped away from everyone else. So have to let the rest of the year play out.

Defensive MVP- Clay Matthews- If you really need a reason then you haven't been paying attention. 10.5 sacks. ON A BAD HAMSTRING!

Offensive ROY- Mike Williams- Has turned out to be a great target for 2nd year man Josh Freemen. 559yds and 5TDS. cannot wait to see what he has in the second part of the season.

Defensive ROY- Ndamukong Suh and T.J.Ward- Both players have showed that they blong in the NFL with Suh leading all rookies in sacks and even tried an extra point this past sunday. While T.J. Ward has reenergized a Browns Defense that was awful last year. lets see which one steps above the other.

Coach of the Year- Tom Cable- The Oakland Raiders are leading the AFC West. Again. THE OAKLAND RAIDERS ARE LEADING THE AFC WEST. However still alot of coaches in the running.

So there is my opinion on some of the top awards so far. Feel free to leave your opinion.

Monday Night Football

Steelers vs. Cincy. my pick. the steelers of course. what do you think?

Stay tuned for my midseason awards

Offical Standings Week 8

Here are the Offical standings before tonights Monday Night Game between the Colts and the Texans.

NFL standings

Standings after week 8

Well, we are almost half way through the 2010 NFL season and there is a lot to say about the season so far. It was the first season since 1970 that there was no team to atleast start out 4-0. The Super Bowl favorite Dallas Cowboys are looking more like the Raiders and the Raiders are looking like a team that may compete for a playoff spot THIS YEAR!

So here are some of the surprises of the season so far
   KC Chiefs 5-2
   Oakland    4-4
   NE Pats    6-1
   St. Louis   4-4
   Minn Vikes  2-5
and by far the best surprise of the season so far has to be........

DALLAS COWBOYS 1-6
thats only one win better than the Bills!!!

As always, Any thoughts or opinions?

Halloween Night

My beloved Steelers play tonight againest the newly crowned "America's team". Looks like pittsburgh will be the villiain once again. But, I think the steelers will have a nice halloween night especially with the Saints having a banged up backfield.    Anyone with any thoughts?

Is Dallas done for?

Tonight, The Dallas Cowboys are taking on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Dallas is coming into the game with a record of 1-4 and The New York Giants have a record of 4-2. The Dallas Cowboys are certainly in a must win position if they want to make the playoffs and the be the first time in NFL history that would play in a Super Bowl in their home stadium.

Now, the question at hand, Is the Dallas Cowboys done for?

In my opinion, I do believwe the Dallas Cowboys are done for. They are in one of the hardest divisions in all of the NFL. Also Dallas still has games @ Green Bay and @ Indy and a home game againest  the Saints. I believe there is not really a good chance that the Dallas will be making any run at the Super Bowl or even the playoffs.

Any thoughts

Now the next question, Who is gonna be the Cowboys next head coach? hahahahaha

Here is the video of Harrion's hit on Cribbs as well as another hit that harrison was flagged for.

Tackling. Should it even exist?

After watching the Browns Steelers game (WooHoo Steeler Win!) There were several times throughout the game where there was a tackle where the analysts were questioning whether it was a legal hit or not. For example, Steelers All-pro Linebacker James Harrison hit Browns All-Pro returner Joshua Cribbs with his helmet.Yes, it is a penalty for head to head colusions but, IT IS APART OF THE GAME. I am not just wondering this because of the Harrison hit because Steelers Safety Ryan Clark is known throughout the league for hitting head first.

If people do not like the helmet to helmet hits then they should not play the game. This goes with quarterbacks as well. When somebody goes to tackle a quarterback they now are not allowed to hit them in the head, or the lower body. So when there is a 260 lb linebacker running full speed at the QB the last thing he is thinking is how not to hit him illegally. If QB's are not allowed to be hit in certain areas then pretty soon the NFL should change the rule to where if a QB is touched during a play then that means he is down and he cannot continue the play.

I understand player safety but all the players on the field understand what they are doing. All of them know that they might be hit in the head. If someone does not like it then take up another sport.

Does anyone else have an opinion?

Video of coach giving the bird

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-ZDmllKbWs

Week 4

With Week 4 just about over besides the Monday night game tonight. It is starting to look like a wide open season, well besides Detroit, Buffalo and the 49ers. But by far the highlight of this pastr weekends action was the fact that Tennesse's defensive coordinator was fined $40,000 for giving the refs the bird. Also congrats to Cleveland who ended cincy's 8 game winning streak againest the rest of the AFC North. Too bad they have Pittsburgh in 2 weeks. Go Steelers.
